 Top Rope Climbing Wall Staff Training

Vertical Climbing Wall Training

Whether you have a Tope Rope Wall or Auto Belay System, we can train you on proper use and maintenance of your vertical climbing wall. Our full day training is included with purchase and designed to provide staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to confidently teach a climbing wall unit at their facility, as well as to inspire the adoption of indoor climbing as an additional lifetime fitness activity. This hands-on staff training is facilitated by an experienced educator and include:

  • Introduction to rock climbing and how to include indoor climbing in your program
  • Climbing vocabulary, techniques, procedures and equipment
  • Climbing wall activities and assessment
  • Opportunities to practice climbing
  • Belay technique and practice / Auto belay technique and practice
  • Safety and risk management protocols
  • Climbing wall and equipment maintenance

Vertical Climbing Wall Inspection & Training/Retraining

After the initial training, you can have us back! We offer a climbing wall inspection and re-training package to help you maintain your climbing wall and safety protocols. This service includes an inspection of your wall as well as a review of your current risk management practices and procedures. Additionally, a climbing wall refresher training is hosted by an educator on our staff. Here’s what is included:

  • Examination of climbing wall surface (panels, hand holds and belay anchors)
  • Review of current risk management practices and procedures
  • Refresher training
  • Report of inspection outcomes and remediation recommendations, if applicable

Note: The Inspection/Training Package is only available for climbing walls made by Everlast Climbing.

Horizontal Climbing Wall Training

Do you have a Traverse Wall® and need ideas for how to best use and maintain it? This half-day training is filled with fun and engaging climbing activities as well as safety and maintenance information as outlined below:

  • An overview of how climbing contributes to the physical, social-emotional and cognitive development of participants
  • A discussion linking climbing with the National Standards for Physical Education
  • An introduction to Traverse Wall climbing, including active participation and climbing technique instruction
  • An intentional review of Traverse Wall rules and expectations and safety and risk management procedures and protocols
  • An overview of climbing wall care and maintenance
  • An introduction to climbing wall activities, including active practice via “teach-backs”
  • An overview of the value-added resources available for use on the wall
