Chroma™ Climbing Wall
This vibrant blue Traverse Wall® has a smooth, durable surface
that makes it perfect for early childhood and adaptive settings. The color-coded Groperz™ Hand Holds offer a variety of options for climbers to use as they climb. Green hand holds are the largest and easiest to grip. The yellow holds come in a variety of sizes and offer a light challenge. The red holds are medium sized and provide the most challenge. Climbers can choose to use any color hand hold, or try the extra challenge of climbing using only hand holds of the same color. Our signature Red-Relief Line® is a safety feature that reminds climbers to stay within a distance of three feet from the floor and is a helpful tool for the climbing wall supervisor. The Chroma Climbing Wall also comes in Red and Spring Green!
Each 4′ x 8′ Chroma Climbing Wall panel includes 20 patented Groperz Route-Setting Hand Holds, 66 preset placement options for mounting hand holds and the Red-Relief Line. A 10′-high version is available.
Safety mats and a way to “close” your climbing wall to prevent unauthorized use are recommended. View our Mat-Locking System®.
The Chroma Climbing Wall is protected by one or more U.S. Patents. View our patents.

FAQs
What is the best type of wall for installing a climbing wall?
If your climbing wall is going to be installed on a concrete/CMU wall, you are good to go. If your wall is made of drywall - either metal or wood studs - the installation process will include building out a sub wall for the climbing wall panels to be installed on. If you have a metal stud wall, it should be at least 6" 18-gauge steel studs, 16" o.c. For full details on the drywall installation process, please reach out to us at info@everlastclimbing.com.
Where should hand holds be installed if I am installing the climbing wall myself?
The fun thing about our climbing walls is there are so many pre-set T-nuts in the panels that you can place the holds pretty much anywhere you want.
If your wall includes a Red-Relief Line®, install that first. Recommended heights are:
WeeKidz® Walls: 2.5 feet above the safety mats
8' Traverse Walls®: 3 feet above the safety mats
10' Traverse Walls®: 3.5 feet above the safety matsKeep any foot holds below the Red-Relief Line® if applicable.
At the beginning and end of the wall, place holds so climbers can easily climb off instead of jumping down. You can position holds in whatever direction you feel is best, but keep in mind there is generally an easier and harder way to position each hold.
Once all holds are placed, try climbing the routes yourself to check the difficulty. You can always add or move holds to adjust the route.
For more on installing holds and route-setting, check out this past educational climbing blog.
What kinds of activities can be done on a climbing wall?
There are a lot of different types of activities that can take place on a climbing wall including individual, partner, competitive and cooperative activities. Activities help develop physical, social-emotional and cognitive skills. Varying how your climbers use the climbing wall by offering a variety of activities helps maintain interest in the climbing wall over time. Every climbing wall purchase includes a copy of our comprehensive Climbing the Walls Activity Guide that includes important information and 65 detailed lesson plans to help get you started. You can visit our Climbing Wall Activities page to see examples of activities you can download.
How do I fund my climbing wall?
We know that budgets are limited and we try to help with funding in several ways. We offer a free funding guide, one for every state, that includes grants and other funding ideas to help you raise needed funds. We offer an annual Boost Grant Program where we award $1,000 - $5,000 towards a climbing wall project. We also offer a discount for Demo Sites. Visit our funding support web page to learn more.
Shipping and Install
Shipping
Your climbing wall will ship to the delivery address you specify via truck. We cannot deliver to PO Boxes.
You will need to meet the truck, break down the crate, and carry each piece of the climbing wall inside. This can take as little as 25 minutes with a group of 4 – 6 people. Lift gate is not available on any orders. If unloading is not an option for you, Inside Delivery is available. Please contact your salesperson to add this to your order.
Please inspect all pallets and boxes before signing for the delivery. If there is any damage, you MUST note the damage on the delivery receipt BEFORE you sign it, or a damage claim cannot be filed with the trucking company. This is very important – please notify your receiving personnel and the person who usually signs for deliveries of this fact. Call us if there is any apparent damage and we will work with you to resolve the problem. Do not throw away any damaged material.
Please protect your shipment until the installation takes place. Any damage occurring after receipt is your responsibility.
Installation
Everlast Climbing offers professional climbing wall installation. Installation can also be completed by maintenance staff or anyone familiar with construction and building. A 20′-long Standard Climbing Wall will take roughly 3 to 4 hours to install. Installation is done by drilling panels into place using a 1/2” hammer drill bit and securing them using sleeve anchors.
