Notable Climbing Wall Projects of 2023
It’s always exciting for us to reflect on our year and on the many climbing walls we designed and installed. This year we had a great variety of projects that included home climbing walls, Traverse Walls®, Top Rope Walls and even a climbing gym! Take a look and let us know if we can help you get the climbing wall of your dreams.
Cherokee Youth Center in Cherokee, NC
Cherokee Youth Center’s new facility features this fabulous 20 H’ x 12’W Vertical Relief-Feature™ Top Rope Climbing Wall and 10 H’x28’ W Traverse Wall®. These two types of climbing walls are perfect for the wide age range of children (5-18 years old) who attend their after-school and summer youth programs.
Old Hundred Elementary School in Midlothian, VA
This 8’ H x 40’ W Standard Traverse Wall® Package features a custom paint job. We shipped the panels in advance so that the school could work its artistic magic. Once completed, we came and completed the installation. We love the beauty and creativity of this climbing wall!
The 3” FR Cordless Mat Locking® System meets the required fire code, provides a cushioned landing surface for climbers and allows the climbing wall to be closed when not in use.
Camp Sonshine in Silver Spring, MD
This camp offers both summer day camp and year-round programming such as before- and after-school care. Their 28’ H x 34’ W Sculpted Relief Feature Wall brings versatility and varying challenges to their campers. It features two autobelay systems and one manual belay system, so both styles of belaying/climbing can be learned and experienced. (If you are not familiar with these belay systems, read our past blog post.) The climbing wall itself includes two roofs, two overhangs and many volumes to add challenges and variety to the climbing experience. We know there are many happy campers at Camp Sonshine!
Ozark Climbing Gym in Springdale, AR
Ozark Climbing Gym features 1,300 square feet of bouldering walls at varying angles and an EverActive® Wall! This was a really fun project for us and adding the gym's logo to the wall is a nice touch.
We left them with a blank slate to fill with hand holds and volumes. We are happy to see it complete and providing a great climbing experience for all ages and ability levels.
